Project
Sesen-Aten Temple

The Sesen-Aten temple is a 160 ' diameter dome in the deep desert, built of unreinforced masonry that doubles as passive thermoregulation. A radial solar chimney draws cool air into the building through underground tunnels and expels it through openings between radial fins around a central oculus. Completed as a final long-span roof project for 4.440 Building Structural Systems, with Phillip Hu.
