History

PlaceLab, is a highly instrumented apartment-scale shared research facility for collecting contextual data from a naturalistic home environment was established with the cooperation of House_n and TIAX, LLC.

Placelab is a highly instrumented environment, housing more than 450 sensors and over 400 RFID tags. Although PlaceLab is a natural environment for test participants to live in and continue their daily activities it is still a laboratory and an alien environment for the test participants. In order to eliminate these issues design and implementation studies of a Deployable Living Lab was started.
