The course will interrogate the topic of research for, into and through design.
The main objective is to define artistic research and its relation to science: to articulate research by design, and define form, format, audience, and places of presentation of production generated through such research.
The course is to provide intellectual climate, critical support and analytical input toward the development, realization and presentation of student studio projects that is understood as research by design. Along with the student and guests presentations, the form of the seminar will be developed to support students research interests in relation to artistic and scientific topics and/or places of inquiry to the research in science and technology at the institute. Readings (possible field trips and site explorations) and discussions relevant to student research and practice will be explored.
