This workshop combines digital technology and architectural history for design pedagogy and exploratory research. Students are expected to participate in a fieldwork trip during the spring break and to develop online/offline prototypes representing a place with its historical and spatial context for scholars and visitors. Contemporary digital tools introduced in the class for application include photogrammetric modeling, panoramic video, game engine, drone, Kinect, VR HMD, AR, and mobile app.

The class is run by collaborating designer, historian and technology expert with guests, and is open to all motivated students, graduate and undergraduate, in Architectural and Urban Design, Computation, History, Media Art, Engineering and other relevant fields.

The mission of the workshop is to provide an opportunity to rethink architecture, and to redesign its experience through digital means.
