This sculpture studio will explore the relationship between structures (including habitable and wearable ones) and animate bodies (such as one another's, or one's own). The class is organized around a sequence of studio problems in which students build instruments to investigate space, construct biological systems for architecture, and create spaces for a public with a particular psychological or physical characteristic.

Studio work will be accompanied by lectures, readings, field trips, and presentations by visiting artists. Students will explore multiple means of artistic production and various media including textiles, pliable structures, air, and tightropes.
