Benjamin Hoyle

Ben Hoyle is an MArch candidate who will graduate in June, 2021. He has been living in Nairobi since the summer of 2020, where he is taking courses at MIT remotely while working with local architects on various projects. His focus in Kenya is on collective financing and the role of the informal sector in the production of housing.

Ben's thesis project, which he is developing in collaboration with Eytan Levi, focuses on the legacy of Soviet mass housing. Building on research they started in the spring of 2019, their project will consist of design proposals for the renovation of standardized buildings on five sites across the former USSR. 

Ben holds French and American citizenship and received his bachelors degree in Mathematics from Williams College.
