Maria Alessandra Segantini

Maria Alessandra Segantini is an Italian registered architect and an educator.
She is principal and partner, with Carlo Cappai, of C+S, an Italian based architecture office.
C+S works internationally in the different fields of architecture, urban design and the design of the landscape.
She was educated at IUAV, University of Architecture of Venice, where she received an Awarded Master Degree in Architecture.
Segantini has taught and lectured internationally in several universities of architecture among which are the Italian Universities of Architecture of Venice and Ferrara, Syracuse University, School of Architecture, NY, USA and MIT, Cambridge, USA.
C+S projects have been exibited in Venice (8th and 12th Biennale of Architecture and 50th Art Biennale), Milan (at the Triennale), Paris (Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine), London (RIBA), Barcellona (COAC), Vienna (Architektuzentrum) and Leuven (M van Museum).
C+S won or were selected in design awards: the Gold Medal of Italian Architecture 2006 (section education), the Mies Van der Rohe Award 2009, the AR AWARD 2008, the FarbDesign Preis in München, the Dedalo_Minosse International Award 2011, the SFIDE 2009 of the Italian Ministry of Environment and the Faces of Design Award, Berlin 2010.
C+S works are published internationally in architecture books and magazines among which are: 2G (E), Abitare (I), AD (UK), Area (I), A+U (JA), Architectural Review (UK), AW (DE), Bauwelt (DE), Detail (DE), Domus (I), L’Architecture d’Aujord’hui (F), Loggia (ES), Spazio e Società (I), Taiwan Architect (Taiwan) and The Plan (I) and The Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century World Architecture (UK).
