Professor Stanford Anderson, Co-founder of HTC, former Dept. Head, Dies at 81

Professor Stanford Anderson, in the History, Theory and Criticism discipline group of the Department of Architecture, died on Jan. 5. He will be missed by many in the School, as well as those touched by his 50 years at MIT. His obituary is available on the MIT News website. 

A memorial service will take place on February 26, 2016. The musical prelude will start soon after 2:50 pm. The service will start at 3pm. Please arrive beforehand. Space is limited, so an overflow space is also available. Locations are in the MIT Chapel (W15) and W20-491. A few parking spaces are available for these events in the Kresge lot on Amherst St, behind the auditorium.  A reception will follow, and each person must show their MIT id or valid government issued id to get to the reception hall..

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to MIT Department of Architecture. Cards to the family can be sent to the Anderson and Royal Families, c/o HTC, room 3-305, 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139.
