Hans Haacke 1967

"Hans Haacke 1967" exhibition
MIT List Visual Art Center, fall 2011
Prof. Caroline A. Jones, curator

The "systems" art of Hans Haacke was shown in 1967 to great acclaim, installed in a one-person exhibition at MIT's new Hayden Gallery. Some four decades later, Professor Caroline A. Jones worked with the artist to re-invent the exhibition, determining works that had been included, ensuring their refabrication when lost, writing a catalogue examining the "Systems Art" movement, and producing reinstallations of "ephemeral" works such as _Grass_ and the large-scale variable sculpture _Wide White Flow_, which had its premiere at MIT.
