Dries Carmeliet is an architect and urban designer and has a practice in Belgium. He received his Master's degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Leuven in 2014. His professional work focuses on the interface between Architecture, Engineering and Urbanism. He completed his internship at WIT in Leuven, where his projects ranged from the architectural design of a high rise tower, to the construction of a single family house, to the planning of a residential masterplan. He is author of a study commissioned by the Flemish government "Atelier Track Design" and his master thesis "Cycling the Sihl", which he completed as an exchange student at the ETH/Zürich in Switzerland.
