Eduardo Gascon Alvarez

Edu Gascon is a SMArchS student in the Building Technology department at MIT. His research work with Caitlin Mueller and Les Norford focuses on exploring the thermal potential of structural components as a strategy to reduce both embodied and operational energy associated to buildings. Prior to MIT, Edu completed his Bachelor and Master studies in Architecture in the Valles School of Architecture – ETSAV, UPC -. During that time, he participated in the construction of the sustainable house “Resso” for the 2014 Solar Decathlon competition and worked for four years in BBG, a structural consulting firm based in Barcelona. He has also collaborated with the architecture studio TAC Arquitectes.
