Jitske Swagemakers graduated in 2016 with a B.Sc. in Architecture and the Built Environment from the Technical University of Delft (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. Prior to coming to MIT, she completed an exchange at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a focus on computation in urban planning. Concerned with design for interaction, she worked as a teaching assistant on visual communication and she contributed to research on sustainable communities at the faculty of Civil Engineering in Delft. She is interested in a participatory design approach expanding on existing community nodes and the strengthening of place-specific assets.
