Special Subject: Building Construction — Design-Build

Architecture can be practiced as a means of social engagement. This requires developing an intimate knowledge of people and place.

At the same time, architecture can be understood both theoretically and experientially. The architect's job should not stop at designing on paper but should extend into the construction.

The goal of this class is to design and build a small project within the local community in Cambridge. The built work will be the result of contextual research including meetings with local organizers and educators.
