Nancy Wu
Nancy Wu is a Chinese-American artist investigating orders of compulsion within media infrastructures. Spanning print, time-based, computational, and networked forms, her work illustrates the raw, irregular textures of human activity and restores contextual dimensionality to media objects. Nancy also engages in publishing as critical practice through her slow, experimental imprint, Qing Books.
Nancy received the Award of Highest Distinction from UCLA Design Media Arts in 2021. She has exhibited works at Recess, Hammer Museum, and Experimental Digital Arts, and has been featured by Institute of Network Cultures, AZURE, and The Internet Phone Book. Nancy has also worked at The New York Times, Studio Lin, IN-FO.CO, Folder Studio, and The Underground Museum, collaborating with clients such as Canadian Centre for Architecture, MOS Architects, Princeton School of Architecture, Jeffrey Deitch, Rizzoli, and Aperture.
Nancy is pursuing an MS in Art, Culture, and Technology at MIT and holds a BA in Design Media Arts from UCLA.
