Balsa Crosetto Piazzi inducted to Architectural Record's Design Vanguard 2026

Architectural Record has announced the cohort of the 2026 Design Vanguard and MIT Architecture's Rocio Crosetto Brizzio, the Pietro Belluschi Fellow, is amongst the winners with her firm Balsa Crosetto Piazzi. Architectural Record’s annual Design Vanguard program showcases leading young firms and individual practitioners from around the world. Founded in 2015 in Córdoba, Argentina, the firm has grown into an intercontinental practice with projects ranging from Chicago to rural Argentina. The studio situates its interest in the material dimension of architecture and in the transformative potential of the act of building, conceiving each project as a critical tool capable of producing spatial, social, and environmental change. Examples of work include Quincho Bialet a space designed for the ritual of asado (barbecue), located in Bialet Massé, Córdoba, Argentina and Tracescollective space in Jackson Park, Chicago, constructed from 10,000 dry-stacked bricks.
