From September 30 through October 4 this fall, visit the epicenter of what’s next at a new festival of science, technology, and human understanding. MIT Future Fest unlocks labs, workshops, and theaters across campus for five days of in-person experiences, exhibitions, tours, performances, and unexpected connections — pulling renowned researchers and curious first-timers alike into the shared thrill of discovery and action.
A number of community members from the Department of Architecture are participating in this festival, including:
- Oct. 1: "How Will We Protect Coasts?" featuring Miho Mazereeuw among other experts
- Oct. 2: "Floating Buildings: Designing for a Changing Planet," featuring Skylar Tibbits among other experts
- Oct. 2: "Future Lab: Design Intelligence Lab" and "AI + Hardware," featuring Marcelo Coelho among other experts
- Oct. 2: "The Future of Building in the Age of AI," featuring John Ochsendorf, Mariana Popescu, Caitlin Mueller, and other experts
- Oct. 3: "The Reef of the Future: From Vision to Deployment," featuring Skylar Tibbits among other experts
- Exhibitions and Installations:
- Adaptive Archipelago, by Skylar Tibbits and collaborators, will be on view during the festival.
- Provisional Futures, by Constantinos Gallis and collaborators, will be on view during the festival.
