Cambridge, MA, November, 2025 – MIT announced the Enclosures – an exhibition on the architecture of the perimeter, with work produced by Salottobuono – MIT Architecture Lecturer Matteo Ghidoni’s practice – on view at MIT Architecture’s Keller Gallery through Winter 2025.
*******
Enclosures is an exhibition on the architecture of the perimeter. It aims to contribute a catalogue of possibilities generated by the fundamental act of delimitation. It includes 24 drawings, 3 models, a carpet and a book about projects produced by Salottobuono between 2010 and 2025. A possible taxonomy across different scales and levels of complexity - from elementary objects to urban interventions - emerges through plans and axonometric drawings. The book contains texts associated with the projects and small photographic images of the built artifacts. Architecture is explored as selective device, producing certain conditions of inclusion and exclusion, creating and erasing connections, sustaining acts of separation and suspension, allowing detachment and otherness.
