C Jacob Payne
C Jacob Payne is a designer working across fabrication, interaction, and spatial design. He studied architecture and environmental studies at Yale and is currently completing his Master of Architecture at MIT. His work prioritizes conceptual clarity and technical execution, using design as a tool to create narrative-driven spaces and objects. His projects integrate digital fabrication, material innovation, and research focused on the historical preservation and reconstruction of Black architectural heritage.
Jacob is a collaborator at the Design Intelligence Lab and has previously served as a teaching assistant in MIT's architecture woodshop, supporting students in bridging digital design techniques with hands-on fabrication. He has professional experience as a designer with firms such as Julia Esque Studio, LAUN Studio, Burr Salvatore Architects, and 2x4, contributing to diverse projects across architecture, furniture, and industrial design.
