Eric Kyle Cheung

Eric Kyle Cheung is an architect and currently a master’s degree candidate at the MIT with the Sustainable Design Lab. Previously, he was a designer for Cobalt Office in Houston, focusing on market rate housing complexes throughout all phases. He also worked with NADAAA in Boston on the documentation of complex residential projects as well as the 2021 Venice Biennale. He served as a studio assistant instructor for two generations of first-year students at Rice, during which he received the Dean’s Award. His research now focuses on building retrofit and construction techniques to achieve cost-effective energy use reduction. Specific methods include statistical and field studies of sustainability efforts, multi-objective facade design, and market price regression of retrofit measures.
