Reishan McIntosh
Reishan McIntosh is an architectural and interdisciplinary designer from San Francisco, California, currently pursuing a Master of Science in Architecture Studies with a focus on Architectural Design (SMArchS AD). Her work explores how temporal, fleeting elements find a place in spaces of permanence, questioning what it means to classify as authentic in a world where environments are often replicable and interchangeable. She is particularly interested in how authenticity can be asserted in places that have been readily upended and overwritten by multiple histories, allowing her to reimagine spaces that honor their layered pasts while adapting to the present.
Before joining MIT, she earned a Bachelor of Architecture and BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she received the Henry Fernandez Award for Excellence in History and Theory of Architecture. Professionally, she has worked with architecture firms such as Figure, Siol Studios, and Gensler in San Francisco and New York City. Her experience spans high-end residential, retail, and large-scale commercial spaces, bringing a versatile approach to projects across various scales.
