Christina Cunningham

M.Arch

Christina’s research has primarily centered on the Bouleuterion at the archaeological site of Teos in Turkey. Her work has included cataloging, drawing, and 3D modeling the excavated blocks of the architrave to propose possible reconstruction configurations. In addition to her work on the architrave, she has also drawn plans of the site trenches and archaeological finds and created larger plans of the cavea and beyond. Beyond drawing and modeling, she co-created a cataloging system for excavated blocks to track them as they are moved on the site and created georeferenced site and trench plans within the pilot iDig software to digitally record trench excavations.

Christina also was the recipient of the Wendy Evans Traveling Scholarship in 2023, with which she travelled the Balkans and Northern Europe studying built spaces aimed at creating health and happiness. She compared how countries in former Yugoslavia have, or have not, created places designed for the health and happiness of their people. She then explored how Finland and Denmark, the reported happiest countries in the world, better create spaces to elicit these feelings in their citizens.

Christina is an incoming M.Arch student in the Department of Architecture. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a concentration in Intensive Design and a minor in History of Art.
