Mayssa Jallad is a Beirut-based bilingual singer-songwriter, architectural researcher and teacher. Her first solo album “Marjaa: The Battle of the Hotels”, explores the histories of urban battles that occurred during the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990), in collaboration with Beirut's music and art scene today. The album is based on the thesis she wrote during her Masters in Historic preservation at Columbia University's GSAPP. Mayssa will be performing excerpts of "Marjaa" as well as taking questions from the audience. Food will be served.
