Retooling Sustainable Design

Timur Dogan is VP of Research at Solemma LLC and an Associate Professor at Cornell AAP, where he directs the M.Arch. Program and a cross-disciplinary research group called Environmental Systems Lab. Dogan holds a Ph.D. from MIT, a master's in design studies from Harvard GSD, and a Dipl. Ing. in architecture with distinction from the Technical University Darmstadt. Dogan's work aims to enhance the knowledge of sustainable architecture and urbanism through educational programming and strategic research at the intersection of design, computation, building performance simulation, and geospatial analysis. The outcomes of his work are sustainable design analysis methods, workflows, teaching concepts, and widely used software tools for designers, such as Eddy3d, Urbano.io, and ClimateStudio.
