Demircan Tas

I study subjects ranging from digital fabrication to computer vision. I combine a background in visual computation, specialist level skills and interest in computer science, and design.

For my thesis research, I am developing a machine learning pipeline for transitioning among different modalities of design and computation, developing automated workflows from drawings to 3d models and back. This work is an inquiry into the clashing cultures among design and engineering.

For Construct(), our Design X venture with Dimitrios Chatzinikolis, I am designing and developing a pipeline for generating in-game architectural structures with spoken conversation.
As part of my work for the Urban Metabolism Group, I design and implement virtual reality prototypes for processing and visualizing big datasets of urban data, as well as the output of a team of 10 peers.
