Kiley Feickert

PhD Candidate, Architect

Kiley Feickert is an architect pursuing her PhD in Building Technology and is a member of the Digital Structures Research Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Kiley aims to reduce embodied carbon in buildings through the critical evaluation of business-as-usual construction materials and methods. Her research focuses on optimizing structural systems for material efficiency and reusing structures to reduce carbon emissions and increase access to affordable construction. She also studies how to effectively deploy environmental policy with a focus on reducing embodied carbon emissions in the building sector.

Prior to joining the Building Technology Lab at MIT, Kiley practiced as an architectural designer in New York City and London. Most recently, she worked on the design and construction of Google’s headquarters in London and Mountain View.
