Sam Brady-Myerov

Sam Brady-Myerov is a first year master’s student in History, Theory and Criticism of Architecture and Art at MIT. Her work focuses on the complexities of urban decoration, studying art that is inextricably connected to architecture alongside the legal and political frameworks that shape its creation. Especially interested in the contemporary Lusophone world, Sam has traveled and conducted research across Portugal, Brazil, and the Azores. She recently completed her undergraduate thesis, Praise to a Living City: Contemporary Azulejos as Public Visual Nationalism, which examined Portuguese tiles as shared visual experiences of nationhood in Lisbon. In 2025, Sam earned her BA in Art History and Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and was awarded a Fulbright Research/Open Study Award for Brazil.
