William Minghao Du
William is a SMArchS Urbanism Candidate and research assistant at MIT School of Architecture and Urban Planning. He holds a B.Arch from Cooper Union in New York. Nominated as one of the top 25 architecture undergraduates in North America by Metropolis Magazine in 2023, he works on cutting-edge topics in the built environment such as urban resiliency, global aging, and space habitat. His works have been recognized by international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennial, European Culture Centre, Miami Center of Architecture &Design, and Brno City Museum. He works in renowned design offices in both the US and China, including Sasaki, Ole Scheeren, and SOM (upcoming summer) on multiple high-profile projects. He is the recipient of the William Cooper Mack Fellowship at Cooper Union for his undergraduate thesis titled 'Land Form Urbanism for Loess Plateau,' which aims to bridge the gap between vernacular cave houses and modern mass housing in Henan.
