Xuan Luo

Xuan Luo is a PhD candidate in the History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture program at MIT. He previously earned an MDes in History and Philosophy of Design from Harvard GSD and a BArch from The Cooper Union in New York. In his current research, Luo delves into the cultural and philosophical foundations of the unseen, juxtaposing the fascination with microbes from the mid-19th to the early 20th century against evolving architectural narratives. This inquiry unveils select microcosmic entities as markers that delineate the intersections of technology, aesthetics, and shifting epistemologies across various disciplines.
