I am passionate about integrating machine learning, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies into computational design research. I am seeking to pursue an interdisciplinary project dedicated to developing innovative solutions to real world problem.
My current research topic is to develop a generative data-driven framework that learns from existing design examples and generate new design suggestions.
- Have extensive TA and RA experience at MIT (BIM, advance visualization, digital fabrication and etc.)
- Years of professional experience in architectural design firms.
- Led several workshop series on digital design tools and experimental AR/VR architecture projects.
- Successfully organized a lecture series for the Design and Computation group, as well as exhibitions.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and an SMArchS in Design and Computation.
- Proficient in various digital design tools (3D modeling tools, digital fabrication tools, circuit design tools and etc.)

Floor Plan Design Collaborator (To be updated)

The study presents a generative framework that learns from existing examples and generates new designs. Specifically, the proposed framework employs Bayesian networks to encode site layout data and floor plan examples, generating new design examples through a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling procedure.
Architectural site layouts in a city are seldom exactly the same, but they often share similarities in size, proportion, and inner placement of buildings. At the same time, these properties often appear very different from one city to another. Given a set of simplified satellite photos and maps, the site layout model is formulated that consists of variables of interest. Structured learning is performed to find an optimal Bayesian Network structure that best fits the dataset and is then trained to calculate its parameters.
