Alicia Delgado - Alcaraz
Alicia Delgado-Alcaraz, a borderland native from the MX - US border region, is pursuing her MArch degree at MIT Architecture + Planning. She is a designer and the founder-director of in//border, an initiative offering mentorship opportunities and valuable resources to architecture students, driven by her background as an alumna of Texas Tech College of Architecture (CoA) - El Paso and El Paso Community College (EPCC). She is also the co-founder of Shift+W, an MIT Student Initiative looking at the complexity of Female Representation in Architecture.
With a profound passion for community-focused design, where she explores the transformative potential of open dialogues held around the table and how these discussions help shape architectural spaces that foster connections among people, families, and cultures. Alicia believes that design elements such as tableware in the kitchen carry ancestral wisdom and memories, so, she strives to make architecture more accessible through everyday objects, thereby promoting inclusivity and meaningful connections within the built environment. Her dedication to these principles significantly influences her roles as an educator, researcher, and individual within the collective.
