Kaicheng Zhuang

SMArchS Urbanism

Kaicheng Zhuang is a SMArchS Urbanism Student at MIT, and a researcher at Senseable City Lab. Before joining MIT, Kaicheng practiced at Zaha Hadid Architects, Portman Architects, Horizontal Design, and Bottega 17. His work has been exhibited at the Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture in Shenzhen, the Harry der Boghosian Exhibition, and the Wind H Art Center in Beijing. Kaicheng holds a B.Arch degree from Syracuse University and was the distinguished recipient of the Highest Undergraduate Academic Achievement Award. Kaicheng's undergraduate thesis titled "Shinjuku Flaneuring" examines the use of LiDAR scanning as an urban representation tool to juxtapose various narratives of first-person experiences. Sponsored by the Syracuse Research Fellowship, the thesis was honored with the Britton Memorial Awards and received a citation for excellence in thesis design.
