Of all the great challenges introduced with the advent of the Anthropocene, I believe the climate crisis represents humanity’s greatest threat and our greatest collective project of the 21st century. Nowhere does this crisis call more issues to attention than in the territorial landscapes of resource production and disposal propagated by cities, and therefore these landscapes represent the focal point of my research interests. I passionately believe in the capability of cities to transition from the epicenters of global waste into global leaders in relocalized production, but this transition is only possible through significant paradigm shifts in the ways that cities are designed, managed, and inhabited. These paradigm shifts form the crux of my current research pursuits.
